A group of five women was arrested by the Delhi Police for allegedly stealing jewelry from passengers in the Delhi Metro. Operating mainly between the busy Kashmiri Gate and New Delhi Metro stations, the gang blended into crowds and targeted individuals wearing gold ornaments. Their method involved coordinated distraction tactics, allowing them to steal valuables swiftly. The arrests followed a complaint filed on April 4 regarding the theft of gold jewelry near the AFC entry gate at New Delhi Metro station. During the investigation, police recovered several stolen items, including two gold bangles, earrings, a gold chain, small stud earrings, and a mangalsutra. Authorities are now probing the women's connections to an organized theft network and seeking further custody to investigate their involvement in other cases. This operation aims to curb the rising trend of thefts within the Metro system.
