Abhay Meganathan, vice-chairman of Rajalakshmi Group of Institutions, noted a significant interest in core engineering courses, particularly Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), which is seen as a new trend. Colleges are responding to this demand by offering counseling sessions to help students and parents understand various career paths available in engineering. Sai Prakash Leo Muthu, CEO of Sri Sairam Engineering College, mentioned that around 100 parents and students visit their college daily, with many prioritizing Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence (AI). The heightened interest in engineering is also attributed to the growing expectations of job opportunities in the AI sector. Additionally, inquiries for NRI admissions have surged, with SRM Easwari Engineering College reporting interest from over 40 countries.
