On Sunday evening, a boating mishap at the Railway Dam near Garia Gaon in Jhansi district, Uttar Pradesh, India, led to the tragic drowning of two teenagers, Vedansh Yadav (18) and Atif Mansoori (19). The four Class 11 students had left home under the pretense of attending tuition classes but instead ventured to a prohibited area used as a firing range by the Railway Protection Force (RPF). They took an unattended boat and capsized while taking selfies, leading to their cries for help. A nearby shepherd rescued Shravan Tiwari (19) and Shaurya (18), but Vedansh and Atif drowned. Despite extensive search efforts by police and divers, Atif's body was recovered the next morning, while Vedansh remained missing until late evening. Tragically, both deceased were the only children in their families, with Vedansh's mother being a single parent after the loss of her husband.
