In a proactive operation at Chennai Egmore railway station, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) rescued three minor girls who had run away from their homes in Namakkal and Tiruvannamalai districts, Tamil Nadu, in search of employment. The girls were found wandering without adult supervision during routine checks conducted by RPF personnel led by Inspector K P Sebastian. He has been remanded in judicial custody as investigations continue into the smuggling activities. These operations were intensified in light of the upcoming state elections to prevent contraband trafficking.
