On April 6, 2023, the district court complexes in Ferozepur and Mohali, Punjab, received bomb threats via email, which were later determined to be hoaxes. The threat in Ferozepur was reported in the morning, warning of explosives planted in the court complex. In response, bomb disposal squads, dog units, and police teams evacuated both court complexes to ensure safety. Senior police officials, including Superintendent of Police Dharamvir Singh, monitored the situation closely. Advocate Lovjeetpal Singh Turna, president of the Bar Council, urged all personnel to vacate the area for a thorough inspection. After extensive checks, no suspicious items were found. This incident is reminiscent of a similar threat received by the Ferozepur district court on January 8, 2023, which also proved to be a hoax. Authorities have initiated an investigation to trace the origin of the threat emails.
