The Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) has announced a ₹4.53 crore (approximately $550,000 USD) tender aimed at revamping road safety infrastructure on major roads in sectors 1 to 23 of Gurugram, Haryana, India. This initiative, which was tendered on April 8, 2026, seeks to improve traffic safety through the installation of various safety features including 2,000 metal beam crash barriers, 5,000 median markers, and 720 warning signboards. The project is expected to enhance commuter safety and improve traffic discipline across key master roads such as Old/New Railway road and Civil Lines road. GMDA officials noted that the upgrades will incorporate speed calming measures and traffic guidance to minimize accidents and facilitate safe pedestrian movement. The completion of this project is anticipated within a year, following a thorough evaluation of bids received by April 21, 2026.
