Marengo Asia Hospitals is looking to raise ₹500 crore by selling a 10% stake to external investors, which could value the hospital chain at around ₹5,000 crore. The company, backed by Samara Capital, the Godrej Group, and Havells India promoters, operates eight hospitals across the National Capital Region, Gujarat, Rajasthan, and Saudi Arabia, with a total capacity of 2,500 beds. The hospital chain has expanded through an aggregation model since its inception, co-opting existing hospitals into its network. Recent acquisitions include Sunshine Global Hospitals in Surat and Vadodara, and the company plans further expansions in Rajasthan and Maharashtra. Avendus Capital has been engaged to facilitate this stake sale, as the founding investors seek to establish a valuation benchmark through external investment.
