A S Sahney, chairman of Indian Oil Corporation Limited, visited Guwahati, Assam, on April 6 to review the LPG supply situation amid ongoing conflicts in West Asia. During his visit, he interacted with LPG distributors, customers, and field teams to evaluate stock preparedness and operational efficiency. Sahney emphasized the need for transparency in operations and strict adherence to safety practices, urging distributors to maintain adequate stock levels and ensure timely home delivery services. He reiterated a zero-tolerance approach towards malpractices and called for accelerated e-KYC processes to ensure LPG cylinders reach genuine consumers. IndianOil assured that there is no shortage of LPG in the region, with robust supplies and measures in place for uninterrupted distribution. The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas also confirmed sufficient LPG supply, with additional cargoes arranged to meet demand. State governments are actively monitoring the situation to prevent black marketing and hoarding.
