Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) is actively enhancing Auto LPG distribution across Karnataka in response to increased demand stemming from geopolitical events. The company reported a significant rise in daily supply, increasing from 43.5 MT per day in February to 68.53 MT per day as of April 4. Despite these efforts, IOCL faces infrastructure challenges, including a limited number of Auto LPG Dispensing Stations (ALDS), which has resulted in supply gaps following the closure of many private outlets. Currently, IOCL operates 55 out of 72 ALDS in Karnataka, while over 300 private stations have become non-operational. This has led to long queues at fuel stations, particularly in Bengaluru, where drivers are waiting hours for supplies. Pricing differences are also influencing consumer behavior, with IOCL's Auto LPG priced at ₹89.52 per litre compared to private outlets charging between ₹99 and ₹105. To mitigate disruptions, customers are encouraged to utilize the dual-fuel capability of their vehicles and temporarily switch to petrol when necessary. IOCL remains committed to ensuring fuel availability during this period of heightened demand.
