On April 4, 2023, Ashwini Vaishnaw, the Minister of Railways in India, inspected sample coaches designed for the next-generation Amrit Bharat project at New Delhi station. These coaches are equipped with modern interior designs and coordinated colour schemes, enhancing passenger comfort and aesthetics. All materials used meet HL3 fire safety standards, ensuring passenger safety while maintaining a contemporary look. This initiative is part of Indian Railways' broader efforts to modernize its rolling stock and improve the travel experience for passengers. Additionally, a significant project to strengthen communication infrastructure in the Western Railway has been sanctioned, with a total cost of ₹398.36 crore for the provision of Optical Fibre Cable (OFC) Backbone in Ahmedabad and Ratlam Divisions. This project is part of a larger ₹27,693 crore modernization program aimed at improving railway communication systems and supporting modern signalling technologies.
