The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has directed public sector oil marketing companies to enhance surprise inspections and has issued 1000 show cause notices to LPG distributors. As a precaution against panic buying, citizens are encouraged to book LPG cylinders online and consider using alternative fuels. The government has prioritized the supply of LPG and PNG for essential sectors, including hospitals and educational institutions. Despite the ongoing tensions affecting supply chains, there have been no reports of LPG shortages at distributorships. Additionally, 51 lakh domestic LPG cylinders were delivered recently, with a significant increase in online bookings. The safety of Indian vessels in the Strait of Hormuz is being monitored closely, ensuring the safe transit of LPG cargoes. Port operations across India remain normal, with no congestion reported.
