Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta reported that the backlog of LPG cylinder bookings is being swiftly addressed, with deliveries now exceeding daily bookings. On April 3, 126,379 LPG cylinders were delivered against 111,504 bookings, indicating a well-functioning supply chain. The average delivery time for domestic LPG cylinders has decreased to 4.37 days. To mitigate panic buying and hoarding, the Union Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has mandated a 25-day minimum gap between domestic LPG bookings, up from 21 days. Gupta also highlighted the establishment of dedicated helplines to combat black marketing, citing a recent police raid in Rohini that resulted in the seizure of six illegally stored cylinders. She urged residents to avoid crowding gas agencies, assuring them that booked cylinders will be delivered directly to their homes within the specified timeframe.
