The Delhi government has introduced new regulations requiring commercial LPG users to obtain a Piped Natural Gas (PNG) connection where the infrastructure exists. Effective from April 2, the directive mandates that businesses must be registered with an Oil Marketing Company (OMC) and submit an application for PNG. In areas without PNG access, consumers must declare their intent to transition once the infrastructure is established. OMCs are tasked with verifying documentation to ensure compliance with these new rules. Additionally, businesses needing both LPG and PNG can petition for dual-fuel usage. This initiative aligns with the government's commitment to maintaining adequate fuel supplies, especially in light of recent disruptions in global oil markets. The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has reassured citizens about the sufficiency of fuel supplies and urged them to conserve energy while relying on official updates.
