Inspector Rahul Verma noted the significant improvement in comfort and focus, allowing officers to manage traffic more effectively during long shifts. This initiative is part of a larger 'smart policing' strategy aimed at modernizing the police force and ensuring officer wellbeing. Previous trials in cities like Ahmedabad and Noida showed positive results, prompting the wider rollout in Kanpur. The helmets not only enhance comfort but also reduce the risks of dehydration and fatigue, which are critical for maintaining alertness in high-traffic areas. Alongside the helmets, officers are receiving reflective jackets and other essential equipment to improve safety and efficiency during night shifts.
