On Sunday, the Mumbai zonal unit of the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) apprehended a 39-year-old woman at the Nagpur railway station while she was traveling on the Hazrat Nizamuddin-KSR Bengaluru Rajdhani Express. She was found to be carrying 853 grams of cocaine, estimated to be worth ₹4.26 crore (around $513,000 USD), concealed within 50 sealed capsules hidden in two shampoo bottles. The DRI had prior intelligence regarding her potential involvement in drug smuggling. Upon boarding the train, DRI officers conducted a thorough examination of her luggage after noticing the unusually heavy shampoo bottles. The substance inside was confirmed to be cocaine following testing. The woman was subsequently arrested and presented before a Nagpur court, which placed her in judicial custody.
