On Monday morning, a tragic accident occurred on the Delhi-Jaipur Expressway near Ambience Mall in Gurugram, India, resulting in the death of 65-year-old Samson Samuel. Samuel, a resident of Chattarpur Enclave Phase-II in Delhi, was jaywalking when he was struck by a speeding Hyundai Santro around 10:22 AM. According to police reports, he had just alighted from a bus and was attempting to cross the expressway to reach his workplace in Udyog Vihar Phase-V. The impact of the collision was severe, causing him to land on the car's bonnet, resulting in a fractured arm and head injury. Despite being rushed to a private hospital in DLF Phase-III, he was pronounced dead upon arrival. His son reported the incident after his father failed to show up for work. The police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) against the driver under sections 106 (causing death by negligence) and 281 (rash driving) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, and the driver is expected to be arrested soon. The body of the deceased will be handed over to the family after an autopsy scheduled for Tuesday.
