Tanveer Ahmad Chopan, a 25-year-old from Pogal in Ramban district, Jammu and Kashmir, is missing after reportedly jumping into Bisleri Nullah to escape an attack by four men. The attack occurred on Sunday around 1:30 PM, leading to public outrage as Chopan's family blocked the Jammu–Srinagar National Highway (NH-44) for over three hours. Local residents allege that the attackers are cow vigilantes, known for previous similar incidents. Authorities have arrested the four suspects—Surjeet Singh, Sandeep Singh, Digvijay Singh, and Kewal Singh—and a special investigation team has been formed to probe the case.
