In West Singhbhum district, Jharkhand, a man named Ganga Gagrai, aged 30, has been arrested for allegedly murdering his aunt, Phultudia Gagrai, due to ongoing taunts. The incident occurred in Chirupasia village on Thursday night. According to police reports, Ganga confessed to the crime, stating that his aunt's taunts and threats had caused him mental distress. He ambushed her with an axe, inflicting fatal injuries to her abdomen and head. After the murder, Ganga buried her body about 500 meters away and attempted to destroy evidence by disposing of the murder weapon in the Kuchika River. The police have recovered the axe and other evidence, and Ganga has been remanded to judicial custody. Meanwhile, in a separate incident, two individuals were arrested in Khunti district for the murder of a woman during a family dispute. This incident highlights ongoing issues of violence within families in the region.
