In a shocking incident in Golf Links, New Delhi, a family was robbed of gold jewellery valued at ₹25-30 lakh (approximately $30,000-$36,000 USD) by their newly hired domestic help and five accomplices. The robbery took place on Thursday evening between 7:30 and 8 PM, when the family opened the door to the domestic worker, who had been employed only five to six days earlier. The worker was accompanied by five masked men who threatened the family with sticks and house-breaking tools, holding them hostage for about 20-25 minutes. Deputy Commissioner of Police Sachin Sharma confirmed that the incident appeared to be premeditated, as the robbers managed to escape without being caught despite the high-security nature of the area. The main suspect, identified as Sushil, was recommended by a previous domestic staff member, highlighting a significant lapse in security measures. The family, which owns a liquor business, has not yet released a public statement regarding the incident.
