In a significant crackdown on cyber crime, police in Deoghar district, Jharkhand, arrested ten individuals involved in online fraud. The arrests occurred during police raids on April 16, following a tip-off about the suspects posing as customer care executives from fake online platforms. Deputy Superintendent of Police (Cyber) Raja Kumar Mitra reported that the criminals lured victims by offering cashback and loan services through deceptive links. During the operation, authorities seized 16 mobile phones and 15 SIM cards from the suspects. Cases have been registered at the Cyber Police Station, and further legal proceedings are in progress. The police are also investigating whether these individuals are connected to similar fraudulent activities in other districts across Jharkhand.
