The India Meteorological Department (IMD) reported that the maximum temperature at the Ridge station reached 40.7°C, while the base station at Safdarjung recorded 39.2°C. Forecasts indicate that temperatures could climb to around 42°C by Friday, although the IMD has ruled out heatwave conditions for the next week. Typically, heatwaves in Delhi occur from April to early June, with last April recording three heatwave days. Additionally, the air quality has worsened, with an Air Quality Index (AQI) of 204, categorized as 'poor'. The IMD predicts that temperatures will remain above normal, with a minimum temperature expected to rise to around 24°C by Friday.
