On Thursday, Punjab's Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains launched Mission Samrath 4.0, a pivotal initiative in the state's ongoing education revolution, known as 'Sikhya Kranti.' This program introduces a comprehensive attendance tracking system, allowing parents to receive daily SMS alerts about their child's attendance, aiming to boost accountability and classroom engagement. The Punjab government has significantly increased its education budget to ₹19,279 crore (approximately $2.3 billion USD), ensuring funds are effectively utilized in schools. Punjab has already achieved top rankings in the PARAKH (Performance Assessment, Review, and Analysis of Knowledge for Holistic Development) survey, surpassing national averages in foundational learning by 18% in grade 3 and 26-28% in grade 6.
