The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), part of the AIADMK-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in Tamil Nadu, has released its candidate list for the upcoming Assembly elections. Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting L. Murugan will contest from the Avanashi (Reserved) Assembly segment, aiming to improve upon his previous attempt in the Dharapuram (Reserved) segment. Nainar Nagenthran, the BJP State president, is shifting his focus to Sattur in Virudhunagar district after previously contesting five times from Tirunelveli. Former BJP State president Tamilisai Soundararajan is contesting from Mylapore in Chennai, marking her fourth Assembly election attempt. Other candidates include Vanathi Srinivasan from Coimbatore North, and S. Vijayadharani from Vilavancode. Notably, former State president K. Annamalai was excluded from the candidate list, despite speculation about a constituency swap to accommodate him. Annamalai expressed his support for the selected candidates, reaffirming the NDA's goal of winning 210 seats in the elections.
