On Tuesday, a bomb explosion in Moirang Tronglaobi village, Bishnupur district, Manipur, killed two minors—a five-year-old boy and a five-month-old girl—and injured their mother. The attack, attributed to suspected militants, occurred around 1 am while the family was asleep. Following the blast, tensions escalated, leading to protests that resulted in the deaths of at least two individuals and injuries to 20 others when security forces fired upon demonstrators storming a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) camp. In response to the violence, an indefinite curfew has been imposed in Imphal East, Imphal West, Bishnupur, and Kakching districts. Additionally, the Manipur government suspended internet and mobile data services for three days in five districts to manage the unrest. Chief Minister Y Khemchand Singh announced that the case will be investigated by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and held a high-level security meeting to review the situation.
