Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has vowed to impose the strictest punishment on Ashok Kharat, a self-styled godman facing serious allegations of women's exploitation and financial misconduct. The Enforcement Directorate is actively investigating the case, while a Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been established to delve deeper into the allegations. Currently, there are at least eight recorded cases of exploitation against Kharat, who allegedly coerced women into sexual acts under the guise of spiritual influence. The SIT, led by Deputy Police Commissioner Tejasvi Satpute, is pursuing the case rigorously, with ongoing efforts to uncover the full extent of Kharat's alleged crimes. Authorities have seized assets amounting to ₹40 crore (approximately $4.8 million USD), including cash, properties, and firearms. The government is committed to ensuring that all individuals involved in facilitating Kharat's alleged crimes face justice, as the case continues to unfold.
