Arvind Kejriwal, the former Chief Minister of Delhi and leader of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), is set to argue personally before the Delhi High Court on Monday regarding a case associated with an alleged excise policy scam. Kejriwal, along with other accused individuals, has filed an application seeking the recusal of Justice Swarana Kanta Sharma from the proceedings. This move comes in response to a petition from the Enforcement Directorate, which is contesting a trial court's January 22 ruling that acquitted Kejriwal of charges related to non-compliance with summons during the investigation into the liquor policy case. The Rouse Avenue Court had previously determined that the Enforcement Directorate did not sufficiently prove that Kejriwal had intentionally disobeyed its summons. Following this, the Enforcement Directorate filed an appeal with the Delhi High Court on March 30, challenging Kejriwal's acquittal.
