Fadnavis stated that unauthorized access to CDRs is unacceptable, and the investigation will focus on identifying how the data was leaked. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) is also set to investigate the assets of Ashok Kharat, a self-styled godman arrested on March 18 for allegedly raping a woman over three years and involved in various financial irregularities. The CM highlighted that the ED has already taken cognizance of Kharat's financial transactions and believes that illegal assets will be uncovered. Fadnavis expressed confidence in the Special Investigation Team (SIT), noting that public trust is growing, with more individuals coming forward with information. He assured that strict actions will be taken against misconduct, particularly in cases involving women, and emphasized that the issue transcends politics despite attempts to politicize it.
