The Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) and the Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (HSIIDC) are set to invest ₹370 crore (approximately $44.5 million USD) to concretise a six-kilometer stretch of the Badshahpur drain, a vital stormwater outlet in Gurugram, Haryana, India. The HSIIDC will concretise three kilometers of the drain, while GMDA will manage the remaining segment. This initiative is part of the broader Global City project along the Dwarka Expressway. The project aims to address issues of sewage overflow and unpleasant odors caused by untreated wastewater. By solidifying the drain, authorities hope to prevent illegal sewage dumping and improve overall drainage efficiency. The detailed project report is currently under review, and once approved, tender invitations will commence. The Badshahpur drain, also known as the Khost Drain in its initial stretch, plays a crucial role in stormwater management, flowing from the Ghata irrigation dam to the Najafgarh drain.
