The operation was reported by Punjab's Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav on Tuesday. Preliminary investigations indicate that the drug trafficking was orchestrated by handlers based in Pakistan and Dubai, with the consignment originating from the Amritsar border area and intended for delivery in Chandigarh. The arrested individuals include Balwinder Singh from Pandori Mohalla in Sultanpur Lodhi, Sumanpreet Kaur from Gohalwar in Amritsar, and Harpal Singh and Jaskaranbir Singh from Dauke village in Amritsar. During the operation, police impounded a grey Maruti Suzuki Baleno car used by the suspects. The police had to engage in a high-speed chase, ultimately firing at the vehicle's tyres to stop it. An FIR has been registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and related organized crime laws.
