Flights between Pune Airport in India and Dubai are gradually resuming as regional tensions ease, although operations are still contingent on airspace conditions in Dubai. Over the past month, the conflict led to numerous cancellations and fare fluctuations, causing significant inconvenience for travelers. Currently, SpiceJet is operating flights when conditions allow, while IndiGo has temporarily suspended its services on this route.
Pune Airport officials state that there are no operational constraints from their side, but the continuity of flights is entirely dependent on the status of Dubai's airspace. SpiceJet typically operates its Pune–Dubai service about four times a week, with flights scheduled to depart in the late evening and return early the next morning. Airport director Santosh Dhoke mentioned that services are being adjusted dynamically based on real-time developments, indicating a trend toward improved consistency in operations.
Frequent flyers have expressed frustration due to the uncertainty, with Pune-based businessman Vipul Alekar noting that he had to cancel multiple trips due to sudden flight cancellations and rising fares. While he acknowledges some relief as conditions appear to stabilize, he remains cautious about making advance bookings until flights operate consistently for several weeks.
