Police identified Sharma through CCTV footage that captured a suspicious vehicle moving in the area. They tracked the vehicle down using its registration number, leading to Sharma's arrest in Nalasopara, located in the neighboring Palghar district. Authorities recovered the tempo used in the crime along with 12 of the stolen cylinders. Sharma has a lengthy criminal record, with over 60 cases of theft, robbery, and burglary registered against him at various police stations.
