Kia has introduced two new vehicles at the New York Auto Show: the 2027 EV3, a compact SUV, and a hybrid version of the Seltos. Responding to consumer demand for smaller cars, the EV3 is built on the 400 V version of the E-GMP platform, which has been successful in larger electric vehicles. The entry-level EV3 Light features a 58.3 kWh battery with an estimated range of 220 miles (354 km) on a single charge. Although pricing and EPA range estimates are not yet available, Kia has stated that the DC fast-charging capability allows the battery to charge from 10 to 80 percent in just 29 minutes. Additionally, the EV3 supports NACS charging ports for easier access to charging stations without requiring an app. The vehicle also offers both vehicle-to-load and vehicle-to-home functionalities, allowing users to power devices or their homes using the car's battery.
