Following a security breach at the Delhi Legislative Assembly complex, Speaker Vijender Gupta has initiated a series of measures to enhance security. During a meeting with senior officials, he ordered the installation of hydraulic road blockers at all gates and emphasized the need for a robust access control system. Gupta stressed that the assembly's security must be foolproof, requiring vigilance and clear command structures between the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and Delhi Police. He directed that all entry points be fortified, with at least two trained personnel assigned to each gate. Additionally, he called for no vehicle to enter without proper clearance and verification. To further bolster security, Gupta proposed the deployment of a mobile patrol vehicle within the assembly premises. The deputy commissioner of police recommended conducting monthly mock drills and installing an integrated alarm system to ensure preparedness for any critical situations.
