On April 7, 2023, a memorial was inaugurated in Tadmetla, Sukma district, Chhattisgarh, to honor the 76 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel who lost their lives in the 2010 Naxal attack. The ceremony was attended by notable officials, including CRPF Director General Gyanendra Pratap Singh and Sukma District Collector Amit Kumar. During the event, Collector Kumar announced a ₹4 crore road project to enhance local infrastructure, with construction set to begin within a month. Additionally, over 50 housing units under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) are being built in the village, alongside a primary school and Panchayat Bhawan. Bastar Inspector General P. Sundarraj highlighted the sacrifices made by security forces in the region, stating that more than 1,500 personnel and 2,100 villagers have died due to Naxal violence over the past few decades. The memorial aims to honor these sacrifices while supporting ongoing development efforts. Notably, the Sukma district was declared free of Maoist influence following the surrender of two female Naxalites, who had a combined bounty of ₹16 lakhs on their heads.
