Bihar's Industries Minister Dilip Jaiswal announced an ambitious plan to attract ₹50 lakh crore (approximately $60 billion USD) in investments over the next five years, aiming to create one crore jobs. This initiative is part of the government's focus on industrial development under the 'Saat Nischay' programme. In the 2025-26 financial year, the state received 747 investment proposals totaling ₹17,217 crore (about $2.07 billion USD), with 317 investors allocated 404 acres of land through the Bihar Industrial Development Authority. Key projects include the Integrated Manufacturing City (IMC) in Gaya Ji, a textile and bag manufacturing cluster in Muzaffarpur, and a mega food park at Damodarpur. The government has also approved 13,343 acres of land across 24 districts for industrial projects and has supported 1,652 ventures, including 242 women-led startups, with ₹92.2 crore in funding. Furthermore, loans exceeding ₹468 crore have been disbursed under the Pradhan Mantri Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME) scheme, contributing to a cumulative total of ₹1,345 crore. The Mukhyamantri Udyami Yojana has provided ₹3,242 crore in assistance to 44,179 beneficiaries during 2025-26, with over 6.5 lakh applications received so far this fiscal year.
