On Monday, the Delhi government signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to redevelop and beautify areas beneath six flyovers in the city. The Public Works Department (PWD) has partnered with Dalmia Bharat Limited, Godrej Industries Group, and EaseMyTrip Foundation under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives. The project includes the redevelopment of the Apsara Border flyover stretch (800 metres) and the Mayur Vihar Phase-1 flyover (820 metres) by EaseMyTrip Foundation, while Godrej will handle the Netaji Subhash Place flyover stretch (570 metres). Dalmia Bharat Limited will beautify the Oberoi flyover (700 metres), Lodhi flyover (700 metres), and Mangi Setu/Hanuman Setu stretch (400 metres). Notably, a Ramayana-themed mural will be created at Mangi Setu. The beautification efforts will include landscaped green areas, wall paintings, improved sanitation systems, seating facilities, and other public amenities. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta stated that the initiative aims to convert neglected spaces into vibrant urban landmarks, contributing to a modern and clean city. PWD Minister Parvesh Sahib Singh highlighted that these improvements will enhance the city's appearance and increase safety and utility for public use.
