The Delhi government has invited applications for scholarships aimed at students from Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and Other Backward Classes (OBC) for the academic year 2025-26. Eligible students can apply for five state-funded schemes and several centrally sponsored schemes by April 30 through the e-district portal. Key benefits include reimbursement of tuition and compulsory fees for students in Classes 1 to 12 from families with an annual income of up to ₹3 lakh (approximately $3,600 USD), contingent on academic performance and attendance. Additionally, a merit scholarship scheme offers financial assistance ranging from ₹8,000 to ₹24,000 per annum for students enrolled in professional, technical, and higher education courses, with a minimum requirement of 60% marks in the previous academic year. The government will also award ₹25,000 to top-performing students under the Dr B R Ambedkar State Topper Award. Furthermore, financial support for SC students pursuing higher studies abroad can reach up to ₹20 lakh (approximately $24,000 USD) for doctoral studies, subject to specific eligibility criteria. These initiatives aim to enhance educational access for disadvantaged students in Delhi.
