Defence Minister Rajnath Singh stated that India is not facing any immediate threat of an energy shortage due to the ongoing conflict in West Asia. Speaking at a Sainik Samman Sammelan in Kerala, he assured citizens that the government is fully prepared to handle any potential crisis. Singh highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi's diplomatic efforts to protect Indian interests in the region and emphasized the importance of national security and defence self-reliance. He also issued a stern warning to Pakistan, stating that any misadventure would provoke an 'unprecedented and decisive' response from India. Singh pointed to the government's zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism as a significant change since the NDA government took power, contrasting it with the previous Congress-led UPA government's record on terror attacks.
