This model supports 25 languages, including English, Spanish, Hindi, and Chinese, and ranks first in the FLUERS benchmark for 11 core languages, outperforming competitors like Whisper-large-v3 and Google Gemini 3.1 Flash in many cases. MAI-Transcribe-1 offers batch transcription at a speed 2.5 times faster than previous Azure services and is priced at an affordable $0.36 per hour. Although it currently does not support real-time transcription, Microsoft plans to introduce this feature in future updates.
