On March 29-30, a grenade attack targeted the Bhindi Saida police station in Amritsar district, Punjab, India, although no injuries were reported. Following the incident, Punjab Police arrested six suspects in a joint operation with Faridkot police. Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav indicated that preliminary investigations point to a module supported by Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), which is believed to be directing terror activities in Punjab. The suspects had been radicalized and promised substantial financial rewards for their actions against police establishments. This incident is part of a troubling trend in Punjab, where there has been a noticeable increase in low-intensity attacks against security infrastructure, including previous incidents such as the rocket-propelled grenade attack on the state intelligence headquarters in Mohali in May 2022. An FIR has been filed under multiple acts, including the Explosive Substances Act and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, as authorities continue to investigate and dismantle the network behind these attacks.
