A sessions court in Mansa, Punjab, India, has directed the investigating officer in the murder case of Punjabi singer Shubhdeep Singh, popularly known as Sidhu Moose Wala, to submit a status report regarding four accused individuals. These accused are Navjot Singh alias Jyoti Pandher, Kanwarpal Singh Grewal, Avtar Singh, and Jeevanjot Singh alias Jugnu. The prosecution, represented by Advocate Satinderpal Singh Mittal, highlighted that the police have not provided any report indicating whether these individuals have been arrested or declared innocent. The court emphasized the need for clarity on the roles of the accused, especially as Balkaur Singh, Moose Wala's father and a key eyewitness, is currently providing his statements. The next hearing is scheduled for May 1. The special investigation team (SIT) of the Punjab Police has charged the four accused under Section 120-B (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Notably, some of the accused have ties to Moose Wala's early career, while others are linked to a separate murder case involving an associate. Seven prosecution witnesses were examined during the court proceedings today.
