Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) is facing serious allegations of sexual harassment and religious coercion at its Nashik unit. Tata Sons Chairman Natarajan Chandrasekaran confirmed that the company adheres to a strict zero-tolerance policy towards employee misconduct. He stated that a comprehensive investigation is ongoing to determine the facts and identify those responsible. TCS Chief Operating Officer Aarthi Subramanian will lead this investigation. The case emerged after a female employee filed a complaint in March, alleging that a colleague misled her into a physical relationship under the pretext of marriage. This complaint has led to police investigations, resulting in multiple FIRs against nine individuals. Seven arrests have been made, including those of Asif Ansari, Shafi Sheikh, and Shah Rukh Qureshi, among others. The allegations also involve influencing employees regarding dietary choices and mocking religious beliefs, raising significant concerns about workplace safety and the effectiveness of internal grievance mechanisms in large corporations.
