The Delhi government is implementing a plan to regularize over 1 million households across 1,511 unauthorized colonies. This initiative involves forming 13 district-level teams, each supervised by additional district magistrates, to facilitate the process. Residents will receive assistance through helpdesks at district magistrate offices for applications and documentation. A senior official stated that once an application for an authorization slip or conveyance deed is submitted, the process should be completed within 45 days. The plan also includes the integration of three digital platforms to streamline property registration. Following the Union government's announcement, property owners can now apply for ownership rights without needing approved layout plans. To prevent further unauthorized construction, the authorities will employ AI-enabled drone surveys every two months to monitor changes in these areas.
