The Delhi government has announced a budget of ₹5 lakh for each of its 13 districts to celebrate the birth anniversary of B. R. Ambedkar. Events will include a two-day 'Bheem Jyoti Utsav' at India Gate, where dignitaries will participate in lighting 'diyas' in tribute to Ambedkar. The Social Welfare Department plans to enhance the organization of these events, which will now include exhibitions showcasing Ambedkar's life and contributions, as well as a book stall featuring works from the National Book Trust. Additionally, the celebrations will recognize individuals who have contributed to the welfare of Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe communities. A new initiative aimed at supporting marginalized communities is also expected to be launched during the celebrations. Public engagement activities, including blood donation camps and signature campaigns promoting constitutional values, will further enhance the outreach of the events.
