In response to ongoing geopolitical disruptions affecting private sector operations, Indian Oil Corporation has ramped up Auto LPG supplies across Karnataka. The company operates 55 out of 72 Auto LPG Dispensing Stations (ALDS) in the state, while over 300 private ALDS have been impacted, with nearly 80% reported as non-operational. Indian Oil's average daily dispatches have surged from 43.5 metric tonnes per day (MT/day) in February 2026 to 68.53 MT/day as of April 4, 2026. Despite this increase, supply-side constraints remain due to limited dispensing infrastructure and operational bottlenecks. The price of Auto LPG at Indian Oil outlets is ₹89.52 per litre, significantly lower than the ₹99-105 charged by private marketers, prompting a shift in consumer preference towards PSU outlets. With around 70% of auto-rickshaws equipped with dual-fuel systems, consumers are encouraged to temporarily switch to petrol to ease the pressure on LPG supplies. Indian Oil remains committed to ensuring fuel availability amid heightened demand.
