Google has updated its video creation tool, Google Vids, by integrating AI features that simplify video production. The centerpiece of this update is Veo 3.1, which allows users to generate videos from text or images. Free accounts can create up to 10 videos per month, each lasting about eight seconds. Users can start by entering prompts or uploading images, and the AI generates a video clip within seconds, eliminating the need for filming or extensive editing. Additionally, customizable avatars can now interact with objects, enhancing the creation of product demonstrations. For paid users, the update includes AI-generated music through Lyria 3 and a new Chrome extension for instant screen recording. Once completed, videos can be exported or directly uploaded to YouTube, with uploads set to private by default.
