The Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon (MCG) has begun the process of hiring a private agency to transport waste from secondary collection points in zone 4 to the Bandhwari landfill for a period of four months. The estimated cost for this contract is ₹2.5 crore (approximately $300,000 USD). The agency will be responsible for lifting and transporting waste from key locations, including Beri Bagh, Khandsa village, and Tulip Chowk, and is expected to handle a daily transport of 706 tonnes, totaling 84,720 tonnes over four months. To ensure accountability, the contractor must use GPS-enabled vehicles and report daily quantities of waste transported on the Haryana government's Solid Waste Management (SWM) portal. Penalties of ₹2,000 per day will be imposed for any shortfall in vehicle numbers or if any secondary collection point is found uncleaned. This move comes after MCG had to scrap its ongoing tender process for doorstep waste collection due to repeated revisions from the Haryana Urban Local Bodies department.
