On Monday, Pankaj Chaudhary, the president of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Uttar Pradesh, unveiled a statue of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar in Bachhrawan, located in Rae Bareli district. During the event, he paid tribute to Ambedkar, stating that the unveiling symbolizes a commitment to social justice and equality, values enshrined in the Indian Constitution. Chaudhary criticized the Samajwadi Party (SP) for practicing nepotism and fostering a 'mafia raj' during their governance, arguing that the people of Uttar Pradesh rejected such rule in 2017. He emphasized that Ambedkar's life serves as a lesson in achieving social change through determination and education. The occasion also marked the eve of Ambedkar's birth anniversary, with tributes paid at his statue in Hazratganj, where Chaudhary was joined by deputy chief minister Brajesh Pathak and other party leaders.
