Passenger numbers surged by 6.3%, leading to a notable increase in passenger revenue, which reached ₹1,657.24 crore. To accommodate the rising demand, the division operated 1,109 special trains during festive seasons, nearly tripling the number from the previous year. Significant infrastructure projects are in progress, including a ₹398 crore redevelopment plan for Pune station, which will enhance capacity and passenger amenities. Safety measures have also been prioritized, with the installation of 160 high-resolution CCTV cameras and advancements in the KAVACH anti-collision system. Divisional Railway Manager Rajesh Kumar Varma emphasized the division's commitment to passenger safety and enhancing the travel experience.
