A comprehensive civil defence exercise was conducted over two days across 17 locations in East Delhi, simulating air raid scenarios, emergency evacuations, and blackout conditions. The drill, coordinated with the Indian Air Force, began with the activation of a simulated air raid warning system and involved the rapid implementation of blackout measures to minimize visibility. Civilians were evacuated to safe zones as rescue operations were initiated, with personnel from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and Civil Defence units conducting drills to extract simulated casualties. A significant scenario took place at a hospital in Malviya Nagar, testing the facility's preparedness and casualty handling under pressure. The exercise involved multiple agencies, including the District Disaster Management Authority, Delhi Police, and fire services, to evaluate inter-agency coordination and response times. Officials emphasized the importance of public awareness in minimizing panic during real emergencies, highlighting the need for continued training and simulation exercises to enhance urban resilience.
